Palladium history
- The history of the site on which the shopping centre now stands dates back to the 12th century, to the Romanesque period. The remains of stone palaces uncovered during archaeological research can be admired in the interior of the shopping centre.
- At the end of the 18th century, the area was adapted to the needs of the army, creating a largebarracks complex with a riding hall, which served the army until 1993.
- The site has an important position in the history of the Czech Republic. In 1834, while serving in the army, Josef Kajetán Tyl composed the Czech national anthem here.
- In the 1990s, the building fell into disrepair, and the Ministry of Defence decided to make better use of the dilapidated building. In May 2005, construction of a new complex began and in October 2007 the Palladium was officially opened to the public.

Art in Palladium
Glass tubes
Glass tube installations at the entrance from náměstí Republiky.
The intermediate door space was recently enlivened by a distinctive design element - a light installation from the Czech company Preciosa.
It is an installation consisting of more than 500 glass tubes programmed to create a unique light show.
Another installation consisting of 700 crystal tubes can be seen at the entrance to the Palladium from the Metro.
Fountain sculpture
The Fountain sculpture at the Equestrian Courtyard (entrance to the offices from Na Poříčí street) by the significant contemporary artist Pavel Roučka.
The structure of old stones from 17th and 19th century stable galleries captivated him so much that he decided to incorporate them into his work.
The fountain gallery consists of 7 marble gutters, from which water cascades.
Riding hall crèche
The riding hall crèche from the 19th century.
Visitors can see the riding hall at the Na Poříčí street entrance to the shopping centre.
